Aks
Aks is a hand dyed silk saree created through a precisely planned resist dye process. The fabric is folded and positioned before dyeing so that the pallu forms the colour reverse of the body.
During dyeing, selected sections are protected while others absorb colour. When the textile is opened and dyed again, the resisted areas shift position, creating an inverted relationship between the body and the pallu.
The motif is not printed or painted.
It is engineered through controlled dye entry and resistance.
Because the dye penetrates the fibre rather than sitting on the surface, the silk retains a soft hand feel and fluid drape. The saree remains lightweight and breathable while maintaining clarity of form.
The symmetry is achieved manually through placement and timing during dye immersion.
This is a non printed, hand dyed saree.
Craft
Hand dyed using precision resist dyeing on silk. The saree is folded and dyed in controlled stages so the pallu becomes the colour negative of the main body.
Why it is different
Most sarees apply design onto the surface through printing.
Here the design is built through planning and dye resistance. The final image appears only when the fabric is opened at the last stage.
The saree is not decorated.
It is constructed through dye.
Colour
Colour
Rani pink body with chartreuse pallu. The pallu acts as the inverse of the body through resist dyeing.
